Personal Protection
What do you think of when you talk about personal protection? Do you think
about self defense techniques that you can use to protect yourself? Do you think about self defense weapons that
will help you to get out of trouble? Do you think about some sort of hot pepper spray, or perhaps keychain security, or one of the many personal alarm systems
now on the market? Or do you think in terms of some sort of more involved personal protection training?
The truth is that personal protection relates to every aspect of personal safety, and also everything it takes
to keep you safe and secure – wherever you are, at home, at work or on the road, even out shopping. Also, what is
good for one person may not be the self defense choice for another person. For example, many people only feel
secure and confident once they have attended martial arts classes or some other intensive personal safety training.
They feel the need to be able to fight back if necessary.
Other people would rather avoid any possibility of physical violence and so opt for a pepper spray gun, a mini stun gun or even a stun gun Taser that comes with a real punch. And
then there are those people who like the idea of a device that is camouflaged as something else, like a pepper
spray ring or one of those amazing cell phone stun guns. Lots of ladies like the idea of stun gun canisters that
look exactly like a colorful lipstick tube. That way they don’t draw attention to the fact that they are in any
way ‘armed’.
And then there are those who shun non-lethal self defense methods and opt to carry a gun,
which is of course a lethal weapon that can kill! In this instance, be sure to be properly trained and
licensed.
When you consider your own personal protection, you need to be sure that whatever route you opt for will not
only make you feel safe, but will also be effective if you are attacked or assaulted. This is why the best personal
protection usually combines a number of the personal protection options mentioned above, together.
It’s all very well to carry a personal security alarm, and you can certainly make a lot of noise with most of them, but
what if your assailant persists, and isn’t scared away? In this event, an alarm on a Mace keychain might be the
answer. That way you have two options in one. Then you can sound the alarm and spray the pepper (which may or
may not be combined with tear gas) in your assailant’s face and escape. Or if you also carry a small stun gun in a holster round your waist, you can reach for this and shock your
assailant when he or she gets too close for comfort.
There are so many self defense products on the market today personal safety no longer needs to be an issue.
There are also loads of different types of self defense training programs for both men and women, so you’ve got no
excuse for not being trained and ready if circumstances demand it.
